ROAD WISDOM: Genealogy

What is it about mid-life that we all suddenly get interested in genealogy? Laura and I are working on ours and so are several of our friends.  I guess we've lived long enough to know that the history of lives MATTERS.

My favorite quote related to this idea is engraved above a doorway in the New York State Pavilion from the 1901 Pan-American Exposition in Buffalo: 
Neh-ko, ga-gis-dah-yen-duk
 Which, in Iroquois, means: 
Other council fires were here before ours.
